About Punch at the P.C.
Punch at the P.C. is an optional Software Module that allows for Employee's to Clock In and Out on any P.C. on your Network on which the Module is installed. It is an add-on to the COMMS Sigma Software Module, that is enabled under the Demo license or can likewise be easily add at a later stage to and Active license.
Punch at the P.C. can be used in addition to, or independent of an Idemia (Sigma, VisionPass or MorphoWave) Biometric Reader as part of your Lauranka Attendance Solution.
To install / License Punch at the P.C.
If you have a Demo license then by default the Punch at the P.C. Software Module will be enabled and active and the Installation Video Guide (at time stamp 6:20) provides a simple example of how this works.
If you have an Active license and wish to add-on the optional Punch at the P.C. Software Module, simply -
1. Click on the 'Update' button from the 'Main Menu' (top-right hand corner) of either the Time Clock or COMMS Sigma Software.
2. Select 'Add Capacity/Biometric Readers'.
3. Complete the details on the Upgrade Form, and under the heading 'Upgrade / Add-on Software and Hardware options' select 'Add - Punch at the P.C. Software Module', then Send to us.
4. Once we receive and process your order we will then send you back an updated 'Verification Code' you can then enter on the 'Verification and License Update' screen (via Software 'Main Menu' - 'Update' - 'Enter New/Revised License Details')

How to Access Punch at the P.C. on any P.C. on your Network
To access/run Punch at the P.C. on any P.C. on your network (to ensure the Punch times are saved to the correct/accessible location) -
1. Install (only) COMMS Sigma onto the P.C./Server, etc. where you need employees to Clock In and Out (please remember Punch at the P.C. is an optional add-on software module for COMMS Sigma) - If you need a refresher on installing COMMS Sigma please refer to the Installation Video Guide (remember only the COMMS Sigma install is required to be done).
2. The next thing to do is to find/create a common Folder location on your Network that will be accessible for both the COMMS Sigma and Time Clock Software (as these may now be in separate Network locations). If you don't have a common Network drive you can access from both locations, Microsoft has guides on how to map Network drives (or you may just prefer to ask your own IT support people to assist with this part). Microsoft guides - Windows 10 - Windows 11.
3. Open 'Punch at the P.C.' on your Desktop (via the Icon) and from the top menu select 'Actions' - 'Punch at the P.C. Setup' (the default Password is 'open').
4. Under the 'Time Stamp Location' browse (and select) the common folder location on your Network per Number 2 above and 'Save' - Please ensure you keep the default file as 'tmclock.daf'.

5. Next in your Lauranka Time Clock Software - from the 'Main Menu' select 'Setup' - 'Import Setup' and select 'New'.
6. Next give the Import Setup process a Name - i.e. Punch at the P.C., then under the System select 'Sigma' and let it use the defaults.
7. Finally, all you need to do is alter the 'Location Import Folder (File)' to match the folder location you entered above in the 'Time Stamp Location' under Step 4 and 'Save' - Please do not add the file name, JUST the folder location.

Final Note
Doing the above will now allow for use of Punch at the P.C. on a computer, server, etc. other than that where the main Time Clock Software is installed (but still on the same network).
