What is it - A simple yet powerful Attendance Software solution

 

We developed our Lauranka Time Clock Software as a flexible, yet simple to setup and use Attendance Software solution that is currently designed to work exclusively with Idemia Readers. Between this and our related COMMS Software it has now seen us supply around 2,500 Biometric Readers into our own market.

Our Lauranka Time Clock Software is a mature, flexible and proven solution that offers the flexibility of allowing a customer to host the application themselves on their own P.C or Server, accompanied by a simple Annual PSA (Product Support Agreement) subscription model for ongoing use.

Technical Stuff

 

Version and Database - Our Lauranka Time Clock Series 3 Software has been designed as a Client/Server application. There are 2 database variant options available, firstly and most commonly used being the Microsoft Access database version and secondly a SQL database version. In both cases the Client (front end) side of the application is Microsoft Access, while the Server (backend database) side is either Microsoft Access or SQL. The SQL Version is denoted by the letters 'SQL' after the Version Number detailed on the Main Menu screen of the Software. In both cases the Version is 3.XXX (where XXX denotes the release version of the Software).

System Overview - Typically for most of our Lauranka Time Clock Series 3 systems there are 3 component parts that make up the solution, firstly the physical Data Capture Reader (most recently this will typically be a Biometric Reader), secondly the main Lauranka Time Clock Software and finally our Lauranka COMMS Software.

 

Lauranka COMMS Software (for the older Readers - MTX, AMX, and V-Stations) and the newer COMMS Sigma Software (for the newer Sigma, MorphoWave and VisionPass Readers) in terms of a solution position sits between the physical Data Capture Reader and Lauranka Time Clock Software and acts as the interface between both.

Hosting and Access - Both Lauranka Time Clock Series 3, including Lauranka COMMS and COMMS Sigmas are offered and supplied as client hosted applications. Lauranka New Zealand Ltd does not host these applications, nor likewise have an ability to remote access them without the express permission of the client through such applications as TeamViewer or similar. Where Lauranka New Zealand Ltd has access this is normally due to a support request and will only be available by the end client facilitating/allowing this request.

As the Software is hosted by the end client on their on computer/IT platform, Windows based permissions and security, etc. around hosting the software largely falls within the domain and responsibility of the end client.

In terms of user access to the Lauranka Time Clock Series 3 Software this is via a single layer (encrypted) password. Every password has an ability to assign a user (name) to it if so chosen. By allocating a user name to a password the system will then track via the systems Log File the majority of activities (from a successful login attempt) associated with this user. If the user is left blank the tracked activity will have no user detailed. Every Password can be setup to have different layers of access within the software.

All data within Lauranka Time Clock Series 3 software is retained indefinitely unless Purged. The Purge function is end-user controlled and allows for the deletion of any historic data (all) from a user-definable period.
